Vintage 1920-1930 Haemacytometer

A$250.00

This antique medical haemocytometer manufactured by Hawksley, London is a blood cell counting kit.
The haemocytometer is a device originally designed to count white and red blood cells. It is now also used to count other types of cells, as well as other microscopic particles. This old hemocytometer is in good condition. Box lined with blue velvet with a metal clasp. Counting chamber, slide, red and white mixing pipettes. Before the appearance of the Coulter counter, the evaluation of red and white blood cells is performed manually using a microscope. The counting chamber has engraved counting grids and the number of squared blood cells is related to the total blood count.

This antique medical equipment is ideal for a museum or personal collection and is in excellent condition.
